Wind – February 2, 2026

¡Buenos dias! Light and variable winds were measured near Cerralvo by an ASCAT satellite pass last evening, and all of the latest model forecasts agree that we'll see only light onshore breezes this afternoon. Surface high pressure centered over Idaho today will begin building southeastward on Tuesday, and models are in excellent agreement that we will see just enough of an increase in north background flow to help trigger our local wind machine. Thin, high clouds will return on Tuesday, but we should see enough filtered sunshine to bring us a thermal boost as well. Wednesday will see similar conditions, with just enough north flow and filtered sunshine continuing to bring us another good day. Model forecasts are in good agreement that a chillax N to NNW flow will continue over our region on Thursday, with a ridge of high pressure over the eastern Pacific beginning to build westward into BCS just as the surface high to our north weakens. Long-range forecasts show the eastern Pacific high will continue to build eastward through the upcoming weekend, with a noticable bump in the north background flow possible on Sunday.
