Located in the heart of old La Ventana, on the beach side of the dirt road, at a favorite launch site. In the middle of the action but above the fray!
Great balance between privacy and access: the property is above beach level and set back just a little, which works well for privacy while also allowing you to watch the action or enjoy a wide view of the Bay.
Layout: Sleeps up to eight adults in beds; up to 10 adults allowed if you rent the whole house. Downstairs sleeps up to six adults (one king and two double beds) and upstairs sleeps two more adults (king bed). Separate entrances! Downstairs, there is a newly remodeled full kitchen, main living area, and adjoining bedroom (plus a bathroom); the second bedroom (with its own bathroom) has a separate entrance.
The upstairs is its own place, a large studio with kitchen and bath. Usually reserved for the owners, the upstairs is available by special arrangement when not occupied; inquire to learn if it’s available for your preferred dates. The upstairs deck is a great place to see the sunrise and the moonrise, or to sleep in a hammock in the open air.
Child-friendly! We have a Pack-n-Play, a highchair, and two cots for little-to-medium ones. We also have two double-height airbeds for older kids.
Pet-friendly! By arrangement, bring your dog(s) or other pet(s), or foster one or more local dogs! (Additional fee and/or deposit applies).
Front patio shaded by a lovely palapa has a view of the water and is a favorite dining area.
Hammocks: one downstairs looking out at the water, and one upstairs looking out…
Large open air patio for lounging, visiting, spreading gear out to dry. Great vantage point for photography and other art. Nice for reading. Parts of the patio are sheltered from the wind. Tables, chairs, and loungers, gas grill.
For those who like to hang out on the beach, there is a level sitting area next to the beach shed where you can bring your favorite chair.

The ramada: there is a new beach shed for gear, handmade by local artisans who also rebuilt the palapa and the upstairs deck roof.
Three paddleboards and two (old but serviceable) solo kayaks available for guests. We also have a windsurf board that works as a paddleboard for a youth or light person.
Walk to taquerias and restaurants; fresh fish available nearby; delivery of fresh produce, fish, tamales, juice 3-4x/week.
This is not a luxury place but it has character, beauty, and everything you’re likely to need, including nearby property managers who spring into action if anything isn’t working properly. This is Baja, and we’re right by the water, so everything corrodes and wears out. The water pressure is adequate but not strong. We provide purified drinking water, and refills happen every day except Sunday when you put an empty bottle outside the gate. Some things are newly upgraded and some things are due for renovation, but everything functions! The king mattress is young and the double beds have fresh foam toppers. The upstairs king mattress is firm with a topper.
