Catrina Clay Workshop – Silvestre Cafe

The workshop will focus on creating decorative ceramic pieces. The main material utilized will be regional clay powder, which is mixed with water to shape a piece from scratch. Typically, a wooden or metallic structure is used to support the clay during the shaping process. Additionally, the workshop will cover the process of pouring clay into existing molds. Afterward, each figure undergoes an intense heating process that transforms it into a permanent, unalterable material. Finally, the figures will be decorated with various ceramic glazes and other decorative elements. The resulting Catrinas will measure between 30 to 40 cm in height and 15 cm in width.
